Gentleman’s Dub Club was formed in 2006 in the basement of number 44 Headingley Lane, Leeds.
The band consists of 9 members:
Jonathan Scratchley (Vocals), Tommy Evans (Drums), Kola Bello (Keys), Nick Tyson (Guitar), Toby Davies (Bass, synths), Niall Lavelle (Percussion), Matt Roberts (Trumpet), Kieren Gallagher (Sax) and Harry Devenish (Sound).
Having started 2015 with a bang – gigs in India, Italy and several UK shows including a sold out headliner at Motion, Bristol – Gentleman’s Dub Club are proud to present their next single, Music Is The Girl I Love. Music Is The Girl I Love can be described easily in one word: anthemic. From the crunching guitars in the intro, to the super-uplifting chorus, to the triumphant hornline, Music Is The Girl I Love will give every reggae fan exactly what they need: bass, melody, harmony and good vibes!
Music Is The Girl I Love was borne from the band’s unconditional love for music despite the ups and downs of touring, recording and music industry madness. “My disposition is a lifelong marriage, she gives me trouble but I keep on going back” Johnny declares over pumping drums and rolling keyboards, a sentiment which will echo with many people who turn to music in times of adversity.
The package comes complete with a live dub mix from UK reggae legend Prince Fatty Music Is The Girl I Love is the first track from the forthcoming album ‘The Big Smoke’
